Rumors about the upcoming Google Nexus 6 are circulating online, and the release date should arrive some time in October 2014, Senior Vice President Sundar Pichai has confirmed to the press.
The Nexus 5 was extremely popular and has become recognized for its highly-rated price-to-performance ratio. Google is now again looking to sell the next generation unit at a shockingly low price to gain millions of customers and establish a solid fan base.
Even though the official release date is months away, websites such as Android Geeks and Tech Cocktail have been offering leaks and spoiler alerts about the expected features and specs on the smartphone. According to rumors, the Google Nexus 6 will be running on octa-core Snapdragon 800-chip series, Android 4.5 Lollypop, and 4GB RAM, which is a significant upgrade from present generations. Other speculation though has even indicated that the Nexus 6 might be released with a massive 6GB RAM, but many critics say that that would be a little ambitious for Google at this stage.
Users can also expect a 20MB ultra light sensitivity camera sensor and a five-inch 2,000 UHD display. Though the Nexus line is not the first to feature a curved handset, its promise to bring greater than HD resolution will be an absolute thrill to fans who want to utilize multimedia and games on the device. Similar to the latest flagship phones from Samsung and Apple's iPhone, the Nexus 6 will have pre-installed health, atmosphere, and thermo sensors. The upcoming Google smartphone will also likely come in 64GB and 128GB varieties.
Currently, HTC, LG, and Motoral are vying to carry the Google Nexus 6, but recent news claims that it is more likely that HTC is win the bid for it as well as the Nexus 8 tablet, which is due for release in the third quarter of 2014.
