After tons of rumors and speculation online, the Google Nexus has finally been released. But how does it stack up against one of its greatest competitors, the iPhone 5S? Here's a side-by-side profile of each, comparing categories of design, display, battery power, camera abilities, and processor.

First the Google Nexus's 5-inch screen size is certainly bigger than the iPhone 5S. The 1920 x 1080, 445 ppi resolution wins also. The 4-inch Retina Display iPhone 5S has a 1136 x 640 pixel resolution. Point goes to the Google smartphone.

Though battery efficiency all depends on what tasks the user requires. The Nexus 5 comes with a 2300mAh battery, while Apple claims their flagship model can withstand 10 hours of battery life. It's a draw.

Both phones feature an 8-megapixel camera. The iPhone 5S has a larger sensor with a wider aperture at f/2.4 which really helps in lower light situations. The Nexus has a cool feature called Photo Sphere for taking 360 degree photos. Draw.

But what's under the hood in each phone's engine? The Nexus 5 boasts a powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 quad-core processor clocked at 2.26GHz. Keeping it all running smoothly the phone comes with 2GB RAM.

Though on paper the Apple phone doesn't seem as punchy, the iPhone 5S runs on its new A7 processor capable of 64-bit processing. Both phones have 4K potential.
