Google Files Patent for Futuristic Throat Tattoo
Google's company Motorola is going to start manufacturing throat tattoos that connect to Bluetooth, according to a patent recently filed in the United States. The patent says that the tattoo would operate much like Google Glass, and will be able to connect with smartphones, tablets, laptops, and other devices that run Bluetooth. The reason why the tattoo would be easier to use than a hands-on device is because the user could communicate with other devices via voice commands.
The patent reads, "Optionally, the electronic skin tattoo can further include a galvanic skin response detector to detect skin resistance of a user. It is contemplated that a user that may be nervous or engaging in speaking falsehoods may exhibit different galvanic skin response than a more confident, truth telling individual."
Does this mean that Google is trying to revolutionize the lie detector as well?
Some critics speculate that the throat region will make it possible for users to speak more clearly in a crowded, noisy room. Also, it may make it possible to listen to music from a smartphone without headphones on if the user has a throat tattoo.
Many experts think that the throat tattoo will eventually be sold as an accessory to the already existing Google Glass. Google Glass is a pair of glasses that allow the user to text, browse the Web, take photo and run other apps. Many complains about Google Glass involve the lack of ability to hear audio from the glasses, so maybe the throat tattoo will be the solution to this problem.
