Google and Audi Partner to Bring Android Technology to Vehicle Dashboard's

Google is guiding its Android software past the domain of phones to explore the possibilities of car dashboards.

Google and German car industrialist Audi AG are joining forces to create a new data and performance system centered on the former's successful smartphone in service system.

According to some rumors, the businesses' propose to reveal the partnership next week at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas.

"The goal is to create a product and interface that lets users access essential functions like maps, directions, audio and perhaps even climate control as they do on their smartphones. Google hopes to establish Android as an integral technology as the auto industry moves forward", according to anonymous informants to The Wall Street Journal.

"The announcement is a response to Apple, which began partnering directly with automakers last year in an initiative called 'iOS in the Car.' Those companies include General Motors AG, BMW AG, Honda AG and Daimler AG, which are all helping to make their vehicles more compatible with Apple technology by integrating iOS functionality directly into their dashboard controls," Reuters reported.

Google and Audi is also expected to exhibit self-driving cars and revealed a plan for availability over the next four or five years.

The two establishments are also estimated to announce an agreement with other enterprises at next year's CES as well as computer chip organization Nvidia.

On the other hand, Apple's Siri technology permits drivers to maintain eye contact on the highway by calculating out instructions and text messages.

It is projected 12 car companies will assimilate its machinery next year.
