Google Glass Demo, Price, Release Date - Revolutionary, Scary or Awesome? Watch Demo Here (VIDEO)
Google glass is a revolutionary and controversial new tech product that brings us one step close to the futureistic age that we think of in movies.
Right now, Google glass just gives offers basic features like directions, responding to emails/texts and shooting pictures and video.
A pair of the Google Glasses will run about $1500 when they first release which will be in early 2014.
In this video, we discuss some of the quick assumptions about Glass and give you a look through the eyes of the device in action. Stepping outside, pulling up an address, replying to an email and listening to the latest NYTimes headlines is a pretty seamless experience. Google calls the technology "calm," since it doesn't require you to pull a device out of your pocket, unlock a screen or tap any buttons.
The biggest worry for people is that strangers can be filming them on Google Glass without them knowing it. People do not like to be taped and this could make many people uncomfortable.
As of now, it is more obvious when you are shooting a video where you can't really sneak up on people and the battery dies quickly when using it. However, of course as the product upgrades, the battery life and functionality will only improve.
So after watching the demo above, I can see both positives and negatives to the device. It does have some cool features, but it would kind of make people feel more like robots if everyone was starting to wear them.
It can be very handy for certain features and we will just have to see how it develops over time.
What do you guys think of Google Glass and the demo so far? Revolutionary or just device that will be discarded in a few years?
