The Good Wife Season 5 finale takes place on May 18 with big revelations expected from core characters, and numerous issues to be resolved. According to reports, the finale episode 22 titled The Weird Year will act as a launching pad for even bigger things to place in Season 6. Fans will be happy to know that there is already a lot of talk from those around the show about Season 6, however, as of yet the precise release date for its premiere has not be confirmed yet.

Executive Producer Robert King has said that the finale episode is going to be a major cliffhanger full of plot twists and unexpected surprises. Fans will not be disappointed

"We're taking what we thought worked in Season 5 and seeing if we can make that stuff do something different in Season 6," King told Hollywood Hills. 

He also added that as the show prepares for the next season, the finale will deal on "bigger emotions and more serialized storytelling."

CBS Senior Executive Vice President Kelly Kahl said that while there had been many inconsistencies at the end of Season 4, the latest Season 5 "may have just had the best season any show ever had." 

Josh Charles' character is set to leave the show after being shot dead in the courtroom by a mentally-challenged client.

For the upcoming episode, King said, "When we looked at it again, we tended to agree.  It's a relationship we want to keep alive, but in many ways like many things on the show, there's some things we kind of slow move and others we kind of fast move," according to an interview with E! Online.

For the finale, CBS has released the following synopsis: "An open feed from a camera mistakenly left on after a teleconferenced deposition between the lawyers of Florrick/Agos and Lockhart/Gardner reveals a threat to the firm that Alicia and Cary never saw coming.  Meanwhile, the fate of Lockhart/Gardner hangs in the balance as Louis Canning views for a larger role.  Also, Alicia entrusts Zach's high school graduation party to Jackie and Veronica, on the fifth season finale of The Good Wife."
