Classic Beach Boys song "God Only Knows" brought a bit of faith to the BBC for a charity, and did so with the help of a lot of famous friends.

A slew of different musical artists, both legends and modern talents, lent their vocal prowess to the song. The director, Ethan Johns, used a series of green screen, Skype calls, and recording sessions to put together this magical piece of music that is complete with an orchestra and choir.

Proceeds from the sale of the song as a single will go to BBC's Children in Need campaign.

The song has strong lyrics, and although all of the people in the video or even the Beach Boys are not identified as Christian artists, "God Only Knows" could have a meaning that serves as a play on words.

The first meaning of the song, and perhaps an obvious one is the singer talking about a love in danger of ending. Beach Boys member Brian Wilson has admitted this himself. Another meaning people could find within it involves clever wordplay of someone speaking to God about not having Him, and then realizing that only God would know how bad life would be with Him.

"I may not always love you
But long as there are stars above you
You never need to doubt it
I'll make you so sure about it
God only knows what I'd be without you"

The next verse reads:

"If you should ever leave me
Though life would still go on believe me
The world could show nothing to me
So what good would living do me
God only knows what I'd be without you"
