The release date for the highly anticipated game 'God of War 4' remains unclear as no official announcement has been made as of yet.

Not much is known about the upcoming fourth installment in the popular mythological beat-em-up franchise, as Sony is reluctant to provide fans with any spoilers.

Rumors led many to believe that fans would hear alot about the game during the 2014 E3 Conference, but that did not happen. Fans were hoping that the game would be released by the end of the year, however, due to the lack of information about the game, it seems as though that's a pipe dream.

Other rumors about the game stated that 'God of War 4' would the last in the series, and that the main character Kratos and his family would ultimately meet their demise.

Many think that Kratos falling at the hands of Thor would be a good ending to the popular franchise. However, Sony has not bothered to remark on any of the rumors.

Contradictory rumors claim that there's going to be fifth title in the series, and take on the role of a prequel to the entire story. The hardest rumors to swallow are those that claim 'God of War 4' will be released three years from now, which many would consider an agonizingly long wait.

Once again, Sony has yet to confirm any of these rumors, as fans hope to hear any word about their favorite character Kratos and his next-gen console return.
