‘Glee’ Season 6 Release Date, Spoilers: Chris Colfer Returns; New Episodes with Old Cast Members

In recent news involving Glee season 6, the show will be delayed in terms of its production due to unspecified off-camera issues. Also, reports at one point stated that Chris Colfer was fired from the role of Kurt Hummel, but these rumors were recently cleared and that the confusion resulted from an unauthorized post via the actor's Twitter account.

In a suspected Twitter hack last July 2, Colfer's account said, "Due to personal issues, I have been let go from the cast of GLEE. Explanations will come shortly." Fortunately for fans, FOX denied the rumor and said that network would surely have the actor back on the show for its final season.

In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, 23-year-old Colfer teased a possible conclusion for his character, Kurt Hummel, "But I would really like, before the series ends, for him to find the validation within himself and for him to realize that happiness is going to come from him, not from someone else. That would be a happy ending for me."

Matthew Smith, assistant editor of Glee, tweeted that he is expecting to resume work by late July, insinuating that delays have affected the show's Season 6 production. However, he clarified alarm saying that Fox's popular teen-drama will resume its standard course of action.

Previous reports quoted Ryan Murphy, executive producer, opening Glee's door to old and returning casts of the show to participate in their last season. Leaks from social media revealed that the whole gang is returning to McKinley High School, where all the stories began.
