Girls’ Generation News: 'Goodbye Ani' Stars Yoona, EP "Twinkle" Billboard 200

Yoona of K-pop girl group Girls' Generation is getting ready to make her big screen debut. She will star in a new romantic comedy that has been titled, 'Goodbye Ani'. According to Korean media, production of the Chinese/Korean film will commence this year.

Yoona was previously offered the lead role in the Korean remake of a Japanese drama that is based on 'Nodame Cantabile', the popular manga. However, Yoona chose to turn down the offer so that she could be a part of the 'Goodbye Ani' film. She is to play the jovial unpredictable Ani, while the film's male lead has yet to be announced.

The Girls' Generation group has completed its third tour in Japan last Sunday. The group started with Fukuoka this April and has covered Kobe, Hiroshima, Osaka, Tokyo, Saitama, and Nagoya. They have preformed 17 times in these cities and have attracted a massive 200,000 spectator group. The accumulated audience for Girls' Generation is the highest ever that has been following a Korean female group.

According to Nielsen Sound Scan, Girls' Generation Sub Unit, and Girls' Generation - TTS or Tae Ti Seo has also become the Highest Charting K Pop Act with their EP "Twinkle" on Billboard 200. "Twinkle" is at number 126 on the weeks' Billboard 200, with over 3000 copies already sold. Tae Ti Seo is a combination of the three names of the three members, Taeyeon, Tiffany and Seohyun. The sub unit has a completely revamped look with vibrant outfits and funky vocals when compared to the Girls' Generation, who are known for their choreography.
