Ready to roll? It's a brand new week in MLB 2013. Let's preview Monday night's game between the San Francisco Giants and the Cincinnati Reds.

Giants pitcher LH Mike Kickham [0-2, 10.57 ERA] starts the away game against Reds' veteran Bronson Arroyo [6-6, 3.61].

The Giants come into tonight's game with a collective sigh of relief, snapping a 6 game losing streak, finally getting a 5-2 win Sunday against division rivals, the Colorado Rockies.

The real problem for San Francisco has been their offense. 5 of the last 7 games they've scored two runs or less. That's with all the key cogs finally healthy. Similar to their last championship run, the Giants could start to build a little chemistry in the second half of the season.

Fortunately for a pretty spotty NL West, the Giants are only three games back for first. The Giants did get some run support Sunday from sluggers like Buster Posey.

Kickham has been lit up in his first two starts, losing both games. At the Dodgers, Kickham's last time out, gave up 8 hits and 6 runs in less than 6 innings. 5 of the runs were earned. A WHIP over 2 is not going to get it done against a hot Reds offense in a Cincinnati ballpark that does not favor the pitching staff.

Key for Kickham? Keep the ball in the ballpark and let your team back you up.

The San Francisco Giants take on the Cincinnati Reds tonight at 7:10 PM ET.
