George W. Bush Impersonator John Morgan Sends Best Wishes As Bush Presidential Library Opens

George W. Bush impersonator John Morgan is extending his best wishes to the 43nd U.S. President on the day of the public opening of the George W. Bush Presidential Library in Dallas.

"As many of us stand today to congratulate George W. Bush on the opening of his Presidential Library, I am proud to say that this man is so much more than just a former president; he is a shining model of what is good about this country," says Morgan. "He is passionate about his faith, his family and freedom, and he has traveled to the ends of the earth and back to share those principles. I want to be a man like that!"

Morgan, a popular comedian and actor who has made a career as "the face" of President Bush for more than a decade, travels throughout the world speaking at corporate, comedic and faith-based events, bringing joy and inspiration to millions of astonished people who might otherwise never have an audience with America's former Commander-in-Chief.

Though he is frequently mistaken as the actual former President, Morgan has only met with President Bush once. After chatting for a few minutes several years ago, Morgan took out his camera for a photo of the two of them, only to find his memory card was full, leaving the impersonator on a continuing quest to capture a photo of the two of them.

Last week, Morgan almost fulfilled his quest, when he and President Bush spoke at the Restaurant Leadership Conference in Scottsdale, Ariz. Backstage, just as Morgan was set to take the stage for a soundcheck a few minutes after President Bush finished his speech, Morgan chatted with several Secret Service agents. Unbeknown to Morgan, the former President was less than 10 feet away in a cordoned off room. When the Secret Service agents asked Morgan to step aside for a minute, President Bush emerged from the room, walking right past Morgan without seeing him. The moment passed, along with yet another opportunity to get the elusive photograph.

"It was such an honor to share the same stage as President Bush and to see him, however briefly, once again," Morgan says. "My quest for a photo of the two of us continues, however. In the meantime, I congratulate him on the honor of the opening of his Presidential Library and look forward to the next time our paths cross."
