'General Hospital' Cast News, Spoilers: Jason Morgan Will Be Played by Billy Miller, Steve Burton Endorses the Idea

Rumors concerning 'General Hospital' and its cast surfaced months ago saying that Jason Morgan is alive and well, and not only that, he's on his way back to Port Charles too. Now that this has been confirmed, Celeb Dirty Laundry offers up the latest spoilers and casting news.

Fans will be excited to learn that a veteran daytime soap opera actor has been officially cast for the role of Jason Morgan on 'GH'.

According to Frank Valentini, the Executive Producer of the show, Billy Miller has taken the part. Valentini's official Twitter post about it reads, "@carlivatiron Billy Miiller is joining the cast of @GeneralHospital in the role of Jason Morgan. Welcome to Port Charles Billy #GH."

What's interesting about this is that Billy Miller was rumored to be cast for the role a while ago, however, other reports followed and slammed the idea.

Basically, nobody except the producers were credible in their answers about whether or not Miller was cast as Jason Morgan. Alas, the question has finally been answered and fans are definitely happy with what it turned out to be.

Billy Miller is known for his role on another popular daytime soap, 'The Young & the Restless'. On that show, he played the role of Billy Abbot, and many thought he was doing a really great job of playing that character.

However, not everyone felt that way, as Jill Farren Phelps, the producer of the show, decided to fire him. This was noted as a mistake on her part by many of the show's fans, as Miller's reception on the soap was pretty well rated.

On a side note, a lot of 'GH' fans were looking forward to seeing Steve Burton play the role of Jason Morgan, however, that is evidently not going to happen.

Fans should not be discouraged to keep watching the show though, as many other fans feel that Miller's soap experience should form his character into a fan favorite. Beyond that, even Steve Burton himself endorses Billy Miller and is happy that it's him taking over.
