'Game of Thrones" Season 3 Finale, Episode 10: "Mhysa" Review / 'Thrones' Season 4 Premiere Spring 2014 [TRAILER]

The Game of Thrones Season 3 finale episode aired Sunday night at 9/8c on HBO. Though it was impossible to top the shocking ending to episode 9, "The Rains of Castamere", episode 10, "Mhysa" still did a great job of wrapping up some Season 3 storylines, as well as setting up a few new ones for Season 4 of Thrones.

The Season 3 finale opened with Arya and the Hound escaping the Twins in the aftermath of Frey's assassination of the Stark family, and armies of the North. The two unlikely companions escape but not without Arya seeing a wolf head sewn on to her dead brother's lifeless body.

In a conversation between Roose and King Frey, we learn Lord Theon Greyjoy's torturer is Ramsey Snow, Roose's illegitimate son. Again another brutal scene ensues where Ramsey makes light of Theon's recently removed anatomy and gives him a not so flattering new name: "Reek."

Word of Robb Stark's murder has made its way to a satisfied Joffrey back in King's Landing. After a brief hurling of insults between Tyrion and Joffrey, Tywin Lannister subdues the argument and sends the "most powerful man in Westeros [Joffrey] to bed without supper."

In a surprisingly tender moment, Cersei and Tyrion share a rather unguarded, emotional conversation. Sure, Cersei's motive is to try and get Tyrion to have child with Sansa, but she also reveals how a mother's love is unconditional enough to even care for a child as evil as Joffrey. Near the end of the episode, a one-handed Jaime Lannister finally reunites with Cersei at King's Landing.

Sam and Gilly run across Bran and Jojen, who are on their way beyond the wall to try and stop the White Walkers. Sam and Gilly make it back to Castle Black where Jon Snow rides in, nearly dead, after Ygritte shoots 4 arrows on him.

Back at Dragonstone, Davos helps Gendry escape. Gendry is being prepared for a Melisandre ordained sacrifice. Seeing a bit of his son in Gendry, Davos helps Stannis's nephew escape from the unnecessary practices of the Priestess of Light.

Meanwhile, Daenerys Targaryen is amassing her army across the sea. After easily taking over Yunkai, the city's slaves march outside the city walls to praise her, chanting the Yunkai word for peace: "mhysa."

Game of Thrones Season 4 is scheduled for a Spring 2014 premiere at 9/8c on HBO.
