'Game of Thrones' Season 3: Episode 4 Recap [VIDEO]
Episode 4 of Game of Thrones was easily the most action-packed hour so far this season. If you thought Daenerys Targaryen (Emilia Clarke) was some blonde bombshell flash in the pan, you now no better.
In episode 4, "And Now His Watch Is Ended" Khaleesi shows her inner dragon by negotiating a trade for for 8,000 slave warriors in exchange for her largest dragon. As she hands over the dragon to the misogynistic slave owner, she commands her newly purchased army to attack anyone around them accused of owning slaves, instructing them to spare women and children.
Instead of marching into Westeros with an army of slaves, Daenerys grants their freedom and asks if any would still follow her to King's Landing. They also start beating their pikes on the ground, signifying their loyalty to the Mother of Dragons.
Daenerys' acquisition of her army wasn't the only game-changing event in Game of Thrones episode 4. The show opens on Jaime's severed hand that has since been fashioned into a necklace for the Kingslayer to wear around his neck. We're at the point in Game of Thrones where we're supposed to feel sorry for Jaime. It's complicated because for a season and a half he's despicable (he did push Bran out of a window).
Speaking of Bran, his storyline is probably the slowest moving. He seems to be preoccupied with his three-eyed crow dreams. During episode 4 he shares another dream with Jojen, only this time Jojen encourages him to go after the crow. He ends up climbing the tree, finding the crow, only for his mom Catelyn to appear yelling and shaking him off the tree.
