'Game Of Thrones' Season 6 Episode 10 Spoilers: Major Players' Final Showdown In Finale
With a whole slew of the series' mainstays having been killed off from King's Landing to the Riverlands, it is without a doubt that it was a blood-spattered ending for "Game of Thrones" season 6.
Titled "The Winds of Winter," the final episode of the season saw the death of more characters in the series than those killed in "Battle of the Bastards," or in any other of the show's previous episodes.
Most of the deaths took place in King's Landing, where the magical wildfire bomb of Cersei Lannister annihilated all of her rivals in the city. It was unfortunate, however, that her son was one of those who ended up dead.
The casualties who were wiped out by the wildfire bomb included Margaery Tyrell, her brother Loras and her father Mace, the High Sparrow, Brother Lancel Lannister, Uncle Kevan Lannister and many other Sparrows, Grand Master Pycelle, King Tommen Baratheon, and Walder Frey and two of his sons.
Arya Stark was lucky enough to survive and seek vengeance for the Red Wedding in an exceptionally bloody way. The season finale saw the bloody revenge of Stark against the Freys for her mother and brother's wedding, where she baked the corpses of Black Walder and Lothar into pies and served them to their father Walder Frey.
Generally, "Game of Thrones" season 6 was all about making way for the final showdown of the true major players by first clearing the stage and getting rid of the various supporting characters and storylines.
