Game of Thrones Season 5 Spoilers: Rumored Filming Locations and New Cast Update
HBO's Game of Thrones is projected to become bigger and better as production for its Season 5 is set to take place in different parts of the world.
Reports claim that the cast and crew are headed for Iceland to film in its limited amount of daylight before flying to Spain to shoot the Dorne scenes for the show. It has been rumored that filming will take place at the Plaza de Toros, which is a bull ring made entirely of sandstone, The University, which is made up of four towers and was built in 1548, La Colegiata, a church located by the university, and the Canteras de Osuna, the old quarries that supplied stones for the town's structures.
Though production has not commented if filming will actually take place in the aforementioned historical sites, the staff has confirmed that scenes will be filmed in Alcazar of Seville, which has been speculated to be the home of the Martell family.
Meanwhile, more characters will be introduced in the show's new season as Dorne becomes a new location in the series. Though casting has not been finalized, it has been reported that many of the new characters will have a last name of Martell or Sand.
The producers are currently searching for the right actors to play Oberyn's older brother, Prince Doran, as well as the three eldest of his eight illegitimate daughters, namely Obara, Tyene and Nymeria, who are collectively referred to as the Sand Snakes in the original books.
Game of Thrones Season 5 is expected to air its first episode in April 2015.
