Game of Thrones Season 5 Canceled: HBO Season 4 Finale Rumors Saying Show Ending Is a Hoax

Fans erupted when a recent report indicated that Game of Thrones, HBO's hit fantasy drama, would be cancelled post Season 4 finale next Sunday. The subsequent Season 5 would not be produced and the highly sought after storyline would close on a cliff hanger. The report turned out to be fraudulent and potentially malicious toward users accessing its website.

Millions of fans could not shell their sentiments about the discontinuation of the series; social media websites were flooded with comments and posts about the bogus report. This further perpetuated the charade and linked countless computer users to the hazardous website.

The website, googon****.com (censored for saftey), removed the deceptive report shortly after it began to pick up speed on social media pop culture websites. The fake report was entitled "Popular Drama Game of thrones will officially end at Season 4. Read more here."

According to grahamcluley.com, the news is definitely false and accessing the devious website may harm your computer. Graham Cluley, a security blogger who worked with Sophos says, "In this case, however, clicking on the link will take you to a webpage that attempts to convince you that your computer's copy of the Java plugin is out-of-date, and that you should install a new one."

"Even if Java Version 7 Update 25 was the latest version of Java (which it isn't - at the time of writing, Java Version 7 is at Update 60, and Java version 8 is at Update 5), you should always be wary of downloading updates from anything other than the official website," he says.

Game of Thrones Season 4 is potentially the most popular season of the fantasy series to date, it has been controversial through out. In each episode of Season 4, viewers took witness to one of the major characters being killed.

Season 4 of the show commenced with the purple wedding, wherein viewers witnessed the death of the sadist king Joffrey, who was poisoned by Little Finger alias Petyr Baelish via Sansa Stark.

The biggest shock of the series, however, was the cranial destruction of prince Oberyn by the Mountain in the fight for Tyrion Lannister's life. Rumors are afloat the even the finale of the Season 4 may feature another gruesome murder.

Meanwhile, Game of Thrones Season 5 is scheduled for a spring 2015 premiere on HBO.
