'Game of Thrones' Season 4 Spoilers: Purple Wedding 'As Memorable As Last Season's Wedding'
HBO's hit historical fiction drama 'Game of Thrones' premiered their fourth season this past Sunday night. Many fans are eager to know what will happen during this new season. And it appears that another wedding, on par with the dramatics of season three's Red Wedding is in store. This wedding has been dubbed, "The Purple Wedding."
George R.R. Martin, who penned the "Game of Thrones" book series, recently revealed some details about season four's wedding when talking with TV Guide.
"It's going to be the wedding of the year, and as memorable in its own way as our wedding last season. It's what the fans call the Purple Wedding, based on the color of the wine, which plays a big part."
It is expected that the fourth season of the HBO drama will be heavily based on "A Storm of Swords" and "A Feast for Crows," which are the third and fourth books, respectively, in the series penned by George R. R. Martin.
When talking to Entertainment Weekly, showrunner David Benioff also provided some exciting information about the upcoming season. It appears he is expecting big things for the new season.
"We got more action, which is obviously more time consuming. ... I think it's going to surpass season three," Benioff said.
