'Game of Thrones' Season 4 Plot Spoilers and Rumors for 'The Laws of Gods and Men'
HBO has just released a new promo for "Game of Thrones" Season 4, episode 6 titled "The Laws of Gods and Men." According to the teaser, the new episode of the show to be aired on Sunday will show interesting developments, such as the return of a well-known character and the entrance of a new character.
According to the promo, viewers will see the debut of Tycho Nestoris, an Iron Bank of Braavos representative, on the show. The clip show Tycho (Mark Gatiss) meeting Stannis Baratheon, who seems to be forcing his claim as the bona fide King of Westeros to receive a loan from the Braavosi.
Viewers who have read the novel "A Song of Fire and Ice" will not find it difficult to recognize Tycho, but those who haven't might be a little confused regarding the Iron Bank's role. In fact, the appearance of the banker is the latest indication that the Bank of Iron will have a vital role in deciding who will eventually take control of the Seven Kingdoms.
In the last episode titled "First of His Name," viewers see Tywin Lannister disclosing that the Iron Throne was badly indebted to Tycho and his associates and there was no instantaneous means to pay back the sum it owed to the bank.
At that time, Tywin said, "The crown owes the Iron Bank of Braavos a great amount of money."
He further said, "That's what the Iron Bank is, a temple. We all live in its shadow, and almost none of us know it. You can't run from them. You can't cheat them. You can't sway them with excuses. If you owe them money, and you don't want to crumble yourself, you pay it back."
If the Iron Bank really thinks that Stannis is in a better position to repay the debt to the Westeros than the Lannisters, it may provide its extensive power to the efforts of the minion king with a view to recover the throne. With the bank's backing, in fact, Stannis may still have a chance of defeating young King Tommen and his allies, provided it receives the bank's support.
The new episode of "Game of Thrones" will also feature the much-anticipated Tyrion Lannister's murder trial and he will speak on his suspected role in the assassination of the late King Joffrey. In addition, the Lannisters will also debate regarding the future of Daenerys Targaryen, who is now the ruler of Meereen.
