'Game of Thrones' on HBO: Season 3, Episode 2 Preview [VIDEO]

Game of Thrones Season 3 Episode 1, "Valar Dohaeris" aired March 31st on HBO. The ratings were impressive as usual for the show based on George R.R. Martin's epic fantasy novel series, "A Song of Ice and Fire."

The Season 3 premiere follows Robb Stark and his Winterfell army marching South in pursuit of the Lannisters. Lannister patriarch and King's Landing hero Tyrion arrives to counsel a young King Joffrey.

In the wake of the Blackwater debacle Stannis Baratheon flees home to Dragonstone to plan a new way to invade King's Landing and claim rightful ownership over the Iron Throne. Unfortunately Stannis' vision is clouded by Melisandre, priestess of the Lord of Light.

Meanwhile, Daenerys (Khalessi) sails in search of allies to take on King's Landing with her three young dragons.

Winterfell is governed by Brand, the second youngest Stark while his older brother Jon Snow pledges allegiance to the Wildlings leader in order to save his life. He claims he wants to fight for the side that fights for the living, though it does seem his agenda is a little more complicated.

The trailer for Episode 2, "Dark Wings, Dark Words," introduces Game of Thrones fans to Orell (Mackenzie Crook). Orell is a Wildling wark, which means he has the power to telepathically communicate with animals, similar to the Starks of Winterfell.

The preview also features the return of Arya, Brienne and Jaime Lannister. Arya finds trouble on the road down South while Jaime and Brienne duel in a swordfight. After being absent in the Season 3 premiere, the familiar characters will be a welcome sight for fans.

Tune in to Game of Thrones Season 3, Episode 2, "Dark Wings, Dark Words" on History Channel Sundays at 9/8c.
