Galaxy S4 vs. HTC One: Release Date, Specs, Price, Review / Can Android Finally Match the iPhone 5? [VIDEO]

The Samsung Galaxy S4, Apple iPhone 5, and HTC One war has officially begun. iOS vs. Android? Apple fanboys are loyal but if you're considering making the proverbial Android "leap of faith," then you might want to know a little more about the HTC One and Samsung Galaxy S4. Here's a comprehensive look at the specs, release date and unconfirmed rumors for both iPhone rivals.

Thought the Samsung Galaxy S4 isn't shaping up to be the leap forward disgruntled iPhone fans were hoping for, there are still some upgrades worth noting. The Galaxy S4's screen is probably most significant. The new Galaxy will boast a huge 5-inch HD Super AMOLED display with 1,920 x 1,080 pixel resolution at 441ppi.

The HTC One, which was officially released in the U.S. a few days ago, has a 4.7-inch LCD screen. Thought it's a little smaller than the Galaxy S4 and has the same resolution [1,920 x 1,080] the HTC One has a higher pixel density [468 ppi].

The HTC One features a 1.7GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 processor, 2GB of RAM, a 2300 mAh Li-Po battery, a 4-megapixel "Ultrapixel" camera with enhanced low-light sensitivity with 1080p HD video, up to 64GB of internal storage and runs Android 4.1.2.

The 32GB HTC One is available for $199.99. The 64GB is priced at $299.99, respectively. The GS4 will come in 16GB, 32GB and 64GB storage formats, starting at $199 [$250 for 32GB].

The Samsung Galaxy S4, released later this spring, is powered by a 2,600mAh battery that can be removed, making repairs and replacements much more user-friendly. Unlike the HTC One, the GS4 will operate on the latest Android Jelly Bean 4.2.2. Though differences are marginal, potential HTC One buyers may be a little upset to not be on the latest and greatest Android operating system.
