Galaxy S4 Mini vs Galaxy S4 Zoom: Features / Super AMOLED Display, 16 Megapixel Camera, Android Jelly Bean

Samsung just added the Galaxy S4 Mini to its lineup of flagship smartphones. They also added a nifty camera add-on called the Galaxy S4 zoom. So what's your first impressions of the new Galaxy devices?

The first thing you notice when you get your hands on a Galaxy S4 Mini, is how light it is. At the only 107 grams, the S4 Mini still has a 4.3 inch display that boasts Super AMOLED with 960 x 540 resolution. If you've been using a Galaxy Note phone, the screen may seem a little smaller than what you're used to.

The S4 Mini runs on a 1.7GHz processor and comes with 8GB of internal storage. Unfortunately only a little over 3GB is useable. Luckily Samsung gives the option of adding storage via microSD. The rear-facing phone is 8MP, which isn't exactly stellar but manageable.

As for operating system, the S4 mini runs on Android 4.2.2. Jelly Bean which is more than capable of handling simple and complex tasks. However, Galaxy S4 features like Smart Stay, and Smart Scroll are not included.

Samsung also recently unveiled their new camera phone line called the Galaxy S4 Zoom, which also has a 4.3-inch Super AMOLED screen with the same pixel density. The S4 Zoom also runs on Jelly Bean but is only powered by a 1.5GHz processor. If the Galaxy S4's 13-megapixel camera wasn't enough then try out the Galaxy Zoom, which features a 16-megapixel lens with 10x optical zoom and xenon flash. Features like image stabilization are also on board. The wide lens can also record full HD 1080p videos at 30 frames per second.
