Galaxy Note 8.0 vs iPad Air: Comparison, Specs & Price Review

The Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0 and iPad Air are very similar, which leaves consumers struggling to make a decision on which phablet to purchase.

The following begins to compare the main aspects of the two tablets.

Galaxy Note 8 is about $50 cheaper than Apple's iPad Air. Note 8 is priced at $389 while Air 4G costs about $442.

When it comes to display, Note 8 is 8 inches with 189 ppi while Air has a wider display of 9.7 inches with 264 ppi. Air also features a retina LCD that comes with a display support.

Note 8's battery life has not been tested yet, but it is said to store 4,600mAh. On the other hand, Air could last for up to 10 hours.

As for the storage, Samsung has a larger capacity, having a 2GB RAM and 1.6GHz processor. Air lacks behind with just 1GB RAM and a 1.3GHz processor. Note 8 also has a quad core while Air only has two cores.

Android Jelly Bean 4.1 is the structure used for Note 8 while iOS 8 is the OS installed in Air.

Note also weighs less, only 340 grams, while Air is 454 grams.

Both phablets have a 16GB storage and could be expanded to 64GB.

They both have 5MP rear cameras, but Note 8 has a 1.3MP front cam. Air only has 1.2MP on the front.

While choosing between the two tablets may be hard for consumers, maybe the Note 8's extra S Pen Stylus could put a leg up on the iPad Air.
