Galaxy Note 4 vs Nexus 6 Comparison, Specs Review: Which Phablet is the Better Buy?

Techies are gearing up for Google's venture in to the phablet market and their release of the highly-anticipated Nexus 6 device, which is set to be manufactured by Motorola.

Although pre-orders for the Nexus 6 will officially start on Oct. 29, Google has yet to reveal the precise shipping dates of the latest gadget. It is being speculated that the Nexus 6 device will hit the shelves in the retail stores sometime in November.

On the other hand, the Galaxy note 4 will be available from nearly all major U.S. network carriers starting Sunday, Oct. 19.

Comparing the Google Nexus 6 and the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 might help any eager consumers stuck on the fence about which one they should take home.

Screen Display

The Google Nexus 6 comes with a 5.96-inch AMOLED display with Quad HD (1440 x 2560) resolution having a pixel density of 493 ppi. The nearly 6.0-inch screen size of the Google Nexus 6 somewhat overshadows the 5.7-inch display screen of the Samsung Galaxy Note 4. Nevertheless, the Galaxy Note 4 has a 1440 x 2560 screen resolution and 515 ppi.

Processor

The Google Nexus 6 is powered by the latest quad-core Snapdragon 805 processor clocked at 2.7 GHz.

On the other hand, the Galaxy Note 4 is available in two variants that use different processors - while one is powered by quad-core 2.7 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 processor, the second variant incorporates a 64-bit enabled octo-core Exynos 5433 chipset along with quad-core 1.9 GHz Cortex A57 as well as quad-core 1.3 GHz Cortex A53 CPUs.

Operating System

The Google Nexus 6 runs on the latest Android 5.0 Lollipop operating system, which is said to be the biggest Android update thus far. On the other hand, the Galaxy Note 4 was released with Android 4.4.4 Kitkat OS, but can be upgraded to Android 5.0 Lollipop.

Internal Storage

While the Google Nexus 6 is available in two variants of internal storage - 32 GB and 64 GB, the fourth generation of Samsung Galaxy Note comes with a 32 GB of internal storage.

Camera

The Google Nexus 6 boasts a 13-megapixel primary camera and a 2-megapixel front-facing shooter. The Samsung phablet, on the other hand, includes a 16-megapixel rear-facing camera with optical image stabilization (OIS) as well as an 8 x digital zoom plus a 3.7 MP front-facing camera.

Battery

The Google Nexus 6 as well as the Samsung Note 4 both come with a 3,220 mAh battery pack.
