Samsung Galaxy Note 4 October 17 Launch - Specs Review, Features Round-Up of Latest Samsung Phablet
Galaxy Note 4, the South Korean tech titan Samsung's latest phablet, is already available in the U.K., while it is slated for release in the U.S. on Friday, Oct. 17. The phablet will also be released in other regions of the world in October, but possibly after its launch in the U.S.
While U.K. retailers like Three and Carphone Warehouse have started stocking their stores with the Samsung Galaxy Note 4, which will be available publicly on Oct. 10, major wireless carriers, including Verizon Wireless, AT&T and T-Mobile, have begun offering pre-orders of the device. However, Sprint is not taking pre-orders yet, but buyers can still pre-register.
Though the Galaxy Note 4 is the latest phablet in the market and is already available in the U.K. and U.S., off-contract price of the device is a hard sell compared to the relatively inexpensive Galaxy Note 3, which is still in shelves worldwide and still considered as the best in the Note line so far.
It is rumored that the Note 4 will come with a 5.7-inch Super AMOLED touchscreen having a screen resolution of 2560 x 1440. Actually, when LG released its G3 flagship Android smartphone earlier this year, it set the trend for the QHD screens. G3 was the first device to come with a similar QHD display.
Galaxy Note 4 is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 chipset, just sufficient to power the QHD display. The device is run by a quad-core 2.7GHz Krait 450 processor and an Adreno 420 GPU. Samsung Galaxy Note 4 will come only in one internal storage variant - a 32GB one, but, as always, it will also support microSD cards of up to 128GB. In addition, the device possesses a more powerful 3GB RAM.
The latest phablet from Samsung features a 16-megapixel snapper capable of video recording of up to 2160p at 30 frames-per-second.
While it's already released on the market, it will be using the Android 4.4.4 KitKat OS till Google comes out with its latest mobile operating system - the Android L.
