Galaxy Note 3 vs iPhone 5S

The Galaxy Note 2 and iPhone 5 both released within a month of each other in 2012 and dominated the smartphone market during the holidays. 

Both Samsung and Apple are hoping to have the same success during the holidays in 2013, with the release of the Note 3 perhaps even pushing up their release to compete with the iPhone 5S. 

Most of this information is just educated guesses from sources close to the situations or rumors from tech related people, so we will see what comes true when both phones release. With that said, lets see what these phones will be like. 

Apple's CEO Tim Cook has said that they will release new hardware this fall. There is no specific dates, but if they hold true to their normal yearly pattern, it would be September unveil and the release a few weeks after. 

It is pretty unanimus that the display for the iPhone 5S will say at 4 inches like the iPhone 5. The bigger question is what exactly the resolution of the display will be. It is typical for the iPhone "S" models to keep the same display as the model before them, but there is speculation that the 5S would upgrade the retina + display to make it even higher to compete with the Galaxy Note 3 display. 

The Note 3 is expected to have a 5.7 inch display and be capable of Full HD (1080p) which is up from the Note 2. The huge display for a phone gives it the "phablet" name but also works well with the S Pen stylus used for the Note devices. 

The iPhone 5 was made more thin than the iPhone 4. It is a beautiful phone with the metal and aluminum and could be Apple's best yet. The 5 weighs just 112 grams and 7.1mm thick. The iPhone 5S is expected to be the same. 

The Note 3 is expected to be 8mm and weigh 182 grams. This makes it clearly more heavy than the iPhone 5 and heavier and larger than the Note 2 as well. 

There have been rumors of multiple variations of the Note 3 releasing with cheaper and more expensive versions. Samsung has been making more variations of their phones recently like the S4 Mini, S4 Active and S4 Zoom. 

Both the iPhone 5S and the Note 3 are expected to have a 13MP camera, which is higher then both phones previous models. The iPhone 5S is also expected to have the ability to shoot in slow motion at 120 frames per second. 

The Note 3 will run on either Android Jellybean 4.2.2 or 4.3 while the iPhone 5S will run on the new iOS 7. 

The iPhone 5S is expected to include a fingerprint sensor for security purposes.
