Galaxy Note 2 vs. Galaxy Mega 6.3: Features, Specs, Camera / Note 2 No Longer Biggest Samsung "Phablet" [VIDEO]

The Galaxy Note 3 has helped Samsung steal a chunk of the phablet pie from the Apple iPad. Samsung's love affair with larger screen phones may have started with the Note series, but has graduated to the newly revamped Galaxy Mega 6.3

The Galaxy Note 2 is not a small handset by any means but compared to the much larger Galaxy Mega 6.3, it feels much more compact. Though the Note 2 wins in portability, the cheap plastic casing loses in design to the slimmer, metal encased Mega 6.3. The outer appearance of both phones is pretty similar, however the Note 2 is a little more functional with the built-in stylus.

Both the Galaxy Mega 6.3 and Note 2 come with a display in 720 x 1280 resolutions. However, the pixel densities between the phones are much different. The Galaxy Note 2 boasts a Super AMOLED HD screen with 265 ppi, giving the display vibrant colors and great viewing angles. The Galaxy Mega 6.3 has a brighter, richer LCD display at 235 ppi.

The Galaxy Mega 6.3 runs on the latest Android 4.2 version while the Note 2 takes a step down with the Android 4.1.2 version. Similar to the Galaxy S4, the Mega 6.3 supports some of the eye tracking and gesture navigation features while the Note 2 does not. However the built-in stylus makes the Note 2 a great phone for note taking and multi-media editing.

The Galaxy Note 2 is powered by a 1.6GHz quad-core Exynos processor. The Galaxy Mega 6.3 settles with a 1.7GHz dual-core Snapdragon processor. The Note 2 sports 2GB of RAM and 16GB of storage while the Mega 6.3 has 1.5GB RAM and an option of 8 or 16GB storage. Both phones have micro SD slots for storage expansion.

Both handsets feature 8MP cameras with LED flash. Different camera modes and features favor the Galaxy Mega 6.3
