Galaxy A8 Release Date: Thinnest Even Samsung Smartphone to Debut in South Korea Today

Last week, Samsung launched its thinnest smartphone ever, the Samsung Galaxy A8, in China. According to latest reports, the device will now debut in the company's domestic market - South Korea, on July 24. This was confirmed by the South Korean tech titan last Monday.

According to Christian Today, the Galaxy A8 is the thinnest device produced by Samsung yet. The device measures only 5.9 mm thick and weighs just 5.3 ounces. Galaxy A8 will be available in two color options - white and gold and is reported to cost about $560.

Meanwhile, Android Authority reported that the Galaxy A8 sports a 5.7-inch screen with 1080 resolution. The device runs on an octa-core Snapdragon 615 processor, with 2GB RAM and comes with 16GB internal storage capacity, which can be expanded via a microSD slot.

In the camera front, the Samsung Galaxy A8 sports features a 16-megapixel primary rear camera alongside a 5-megapixel snapper at the front for selfies.

In addition, the smartphone also packs a 3050mAh battery and comes preinstalled with Google's Android 5.1 Lollipop operating system. In addition, the device also boasts the fingerprint scanner on the home button.

The Samsung Galaxy A8 is being touted as an affordable device intended for consumers who are seeking a high-quality handset without having to break the bank.
