'Friends' Reunion Not Happening According to Show's Co-Creator

Friends fans, sorry the reunion season rumors were just another string of misguided Internet gossip. Friends co-creator Marta Kauffman put the speculation to bed at last night's Call Me Crazy premiere.

"I'm going to clear this up-it's not happening! Friends was about that time in your life when your friends are your family and once you have a family, there's no need anymore."

Man I really would have expected the co-creator behind Friends to be a little more cheery.

Last week rumors started buzzing around the Web that Ross, Rachel and the rest of the Friends crew had signed on for a comeback season. Some reports even claimed NBC had confirmed the show's return.

Kauffman also denied possibilities of a Friends reunion movie, which has been a rumor since the show went off air. Kauffman explains the characters from the show all have families now, so the idea of them spending day after day in a coffee shop seems absurd and parentally neglectful.

According to Entertainment Weekly NBC has confirmed Kauffman's statements and aren't involved in any talks to reunite the Friends gang.

When Friends premiered it's tenth and final season in 2003, each actor was reportedly paid $1 million per episode. Imagine how much they'd ask for if they returned ten years later for the most anticipated comeback in television history. Could NBC even afford it?

How excited would you be if the cast of Friends reunited for a comeback season? Until then it looks like you'll just have to rely on the re-runs.
