'Friends' Comeback Reunion 2014: Co-Creator Denies New 'Friends' Season / Jennifer Aniston Surprised by Rumors [VIDEO]
The Friends comeback reunion season isn't happening in 2014 and chances are won't happen any other year either. Friends fans were stoked to hear rumors of a full new season with Ross, Rachel and the rest of the gang. Unfortunately the rumors are just rumors [allegedly started by a radio DJ in Tulsa, Oklahoma].
Friends co-creator Marta Kauffman silenced the gossip at her Call Me Crazy red carpet premiere. When asked about a possible Friends reunion she said:
"I'm going to clear this up-it's not happening! Friends was about that time in your life when your friends are your family and once you have a family, there's no need anymore."
Somehow the Friends comeback hadn't reached Jennifer Aniston, who when appearing on the Ellen DeGeneres show seemed shocked to hear the rumors.
"I'm responsible for the entire Friends reunion that's gonna happen," the talk show host bragged to Aniston [Rachel].
A very surprised Aniston told Ellen: "Well, you're hearing it here first. As am I!"
When Friends premiered it's tenth and final season in 2003, each actor was reportedly paid $1 million per episode. Imagine how much they'd ask for if they returned ten years later for the most anticipated comeback in television history. Could NBC even afford it?
How excited would you be if the cast of Friends reunited for a comeback season? Until then it looks like you'll just have to rely on the re-runs.
