'Friends' Comeback Reunion 2014: Cast of NBC's 'Friends' Reunite for Comeback Season? Jennifer Aniston Speaks 'Friends' Reunion on Ellen [VIDEO]
Ever wondered what it be like to see the cast of Friends: Ross, Rachel, Joey, Chandler, Monica and Phoebe as adults? Well neither does Friends co-creator Marta Kauffman. Ever since Friends wrapped in May 2004, the Internet has buzzed over a potential comeback season. Some reports even claim the makers of Friends were in the process of making a movie adaptation.
At her Call Me Crazy red carpet premiere Kauffman silenced the sensational online media.
"I'm going to clear this up-it's not happening! Friends was about that time in your life when your friends are your family and once you have a family, there's no need anymore."
But why? It's not like Matthew Perry (Chandler) or Jennifer Aniston (Rachel) are really doing anything too important with their careers at the moment. Maybe NBC doesn't want to choke over the money. During the last season of Friends, each of the six main cast member were paid a reported $1 million per episode. That's a whole lot of coffee at the Central Perk.
Kauffman cites character psychology as the main deterrent for a Friends comeback reunion season.
"'Friends' was about that time in your life when your friends are your family, and once you have a family, there's no need anymore," she said.
I guess she does have a point. How would the friends in Friends be able to spend so much time together if they all had children. They'd seem like extremely neglectful parents.
Here's a clip of Jennifer Anniston on The Ellen DeGeneres Show hearing about the Friends comeback rumors for the first time.
