Fox is putting a new spin on the old legend of "Sleepy Hollow," set to premiere tonight with its season 1 debut. The show is surrounded by a large amount of spoilers and rumors, many of which will be confirmed or denied in the season 1 premiere of the show on fox tonight.

The series premiere of "Sleepy Hollow" will take place in the 21^st and has a more religious theme than the previous renditions of the legend. The Headless Horseman has biblical beginnings and seems to have a big problem with humanity. One of the big rumors about the show is that there are actually four Headless Horseman, each one representing one of the Four Horseman of the Apocalypse.

The spoiler for the beginning of the series premiere states that the opening scenes of the show take place during the Revolutionary War but the actual story is set in modern times. However, there are many instances in the show that tie colonial times with present day, such as the use of a polygraph test.

The real issue that will determine whether "Sleepy Hollow" will live beyond its premiere is whether it can capitalize on the storytelling aspect instead of simply using the obvious "colonial vs modern" jokes to create content.
