Former Pittsburgh Steelers Coach Bill Cowher In Park Ave. Crash in New York City / Both Drivers Fine After Accident

Former Pittsburgh Steeler head coach Bill Cowher was involved in a car accident in New York at 1:11 Tuesday afternoon. Luckily for Cowher Mercedes absorbed most of the damage.

"With how banged up that car is, it's amazing no one was really hurt," said witness Jim Conner.

After hitting Cowher, the woman driving the Ford Fusion slammed into a pole knocking down construction debris on her car and on the road.

Cowher and the unidentified woman in the Ford left the scene of the accident relatively unscathed. Both drivers claim to have had the green light at East 92nd street in Manhattan's Upper East Side.

The Daily News is reporting Cowher cut the woman off trying to turn on 92nd. Eye witnesses claim Cowher was driving in his Mercedes behind the Fusion and rear-ended the woman.

A photo provided by The Daily News indicates rear passenger-side door damage to the woman's Ford Fusion. Did Cowher's Mercedes cause that or the construction scaffolding the woman swerved into after initial impact?

At this point, the police have not pressed any charges on either party.
