Flappy Bird News, Latest Rumors: Creator Dong Nyugen Promises Apple App Store Will One Day See Flappy Bird Return

Flappy Bird was a hot topic one and a half months ago when creator Dong Nyugen made the decision to rip the title from app stores for both Apple and Android, leaving many who had not downloaded the game jilted and remorseful.

Gone but not forgotten, many still hoped for the widely followed homely flapping bird's eventual return. Has a recent twitter post revealed that hopes for the return of the simple yet trying app might one day see fulfillment?

Millions were eager to test themselves in the crucible of the intermediary spaces between a series of green Super Mario World looking pipes that varied in height and distance making navigation increasingly hard throughout the game.

In February, Dong Nyugen, the Vietnamese designer of the app, decided to take the app down completely, citing the fact that it was too addictive and he simply wanted people to play for five minutes or so in their down time.

Nyugen was pulling in around $50,000 a day in revenue, leading analysts and technology experts to complete bafflement at his decision.

But those who seek a second coming of the strange duck or penguin like creature may not be disappointed. Nyugen tweeted yesterday that he would is working on a revamped version of the game which according to him, will surpass the first one: "It will not be the original game but a better one. I keep my word." He also told an inquiring twitter follower when asked if there would be a return of the game: "Yes. But not soon."

Until then, players will just have to find substitute games that operate with the same concept that landed in high quantity in the app store after the original Flappy Bird game was taken out. Or you can just wait and hope that the hiatus will be compensated by the new game being even better/more maddening then before.
