Flappy Bird creator, Dong Nguyen, has revealed in a recent interview that he is not officially closing the door on the prospect of re-releasing the game that made him famous and took the App world by storm.
Flappy Bird was a game that originally did not receive much attention when it was first released. However, its popularity rapidly increased in recent months, making Nguyen wealthy. The popular game was allegedly earning him $50,000 a day.
The pressure from the game's success made Nguyen take down his game completely as he received a wide range of feedback about good and bad things regarding his game. Some gamers enjoyed playing, while other people became addicted to playing as the bird that must avoid colliding into pipes. In his interview with Rolling Stone, Nguyen seemed to indicate that the negatives of the game were the only reasons that he pulled it down.
"I'm master of my own fate," said Nguyen to his parents after taking down the game, according to the Rolling Stone article. "Independent thinker."
The decision to pull the game shocked the entire gaming community and caused many gamers to be upset because they did not have Flappy Bird previously downloaded before it was taken down from online stores.
According to Rolling Stone, when Nguyen was asked whether he would bring the game back, he said he would be "considering it," but that the popular game would have to be released with a warning to "Please take a break."
There have been many people making imitation versions of the game, which have also became very popular. The game can allegedly also be obtained via the iOS 7 Jailbreak, and users can find a hack that permits them to play the game minus any obstacles.
For players without the jailbreak hack, the game can only be played if it was previously downloaded before its removal from app stores.
