Fifty Shades of Grey Release Date Targeted By 'Old Fashioned' Christian Movie - Valentine's Day 2015 (VIDEO)

It has just been announced that a new Christian film titled 'Old Fashioned' will go head-to-head with 'Fifty Shades of Grey' for box office supremacy on February 14, 2015.

"I wanted to tell a love story that takes the idea of Godly romance seriously," said Rik Swartzwelder in an announcement, "A story that, without apology, explores the possibility of a higher standard in relationships; yet, is also fully aware of just how fragile we all are and doesn't seek to heap guilt upon those of us that have made mistakes."

Swartzwelder is the movie's award-winning director, writer and protagonist who plays as a man named Clay who tries to win the heart of Amber (played by Elizabeth Ann Roberts of 'Heroes', 'Black Knight' and 'House' fame) in the upcoming romantic film.

According to a Gospel Herald report, Clay was a man who used to love to party before he tries to change his lifestyle in order to impress Amber the old-school way, using chivalry.

The movie was shot in Ohio and was created by Freestyle Releasing, the studio that created the critically acclaimed Christian film 'God's Not Dead', which starred Shane Harper, Kevin Sorbo, Dean Cain and David A.R. White when it arrived in theaters on March 21, 2014.

"[Old Fashioned will be] the first faith-based theatrical release to specifically target the underserved Christian singles audience," Freestyle Co-President Mark Borde, according to the Gospel Herald.

Swartzwelder knows his upcoming film will face stiff competition when his film debuts on the same day as the 'Fifty Shades of Grey' movie, but he has faith that 'Old Fashioned' will upset the much anticipated sexually explicit flick

"They will have more screens, more money, more hype," said Swartzwelder in his proclamation, "but we're hopeful that we are not alone in our belief that there are others out there who desire more from love - and the movies - than objectification or domination."

'Old Fashioned' will arrive in movie theaters on Valentine's Day 2015.
