Just months after she successfully broke into the music scene, rapper Iggy Azalea made another huge leap in her career as she has just been cast in the seventh installment of the wildly popular "Fast and the Furious' franchise.

It was Vin Diesel who broke the news during a filmed interview with France's Skyrock FM. Diesel will be reprising his role as Dominic Toretto, and is also a producer of the film.

"Iggy Azalea, I worked with her two weeks ago"¦ we cast her in "Fast and Furious 7'. She has a cameo in "Fast and Furious 7," Diesel said in the interview. The actor didn't give any other details regarding Azalea's role.

Azalea is currently dominating the charts with her hits such as "Fancy" and "Work," and she has garnered a total of seven nominations for the 2014 MTV Video Music Awards on August 24.

However, it's important to note that Azalea has not confirmed the recent casting news in any interviews or social media posts.

Aside from Diesel, Michelle Rodriguez, Dwayne Johnson, Tyrese Gibson, and Jordana Brewster will be back for "Fast and Furious 7', along with new cast additions Djimon Hounsou, MMA fighter Ronda Rousey, Jason Statham, and Kurt Russell. The late Paul Walker will also be seen in the film, as he had finsihed filming most of his scenes before he passed away in a tragic car accident last year.

"Fast and Furious 7' will premiere on April 3, 2015.
