Fast & Furious 7: Release Date, Movie Franchise in Limbo?
The popular sports car, adrenaline junkie movie franchise, Fast & Furious, is supposedly in the making of the seventh movie that is reportedly going to be released in 2014. The sixth movie, Fast Six, was released back in May and has grossed an estimated $780 million worldwide. Fast Six took place after the successful Rio heist as all the members of Tolledo's gang were retiring peacefully and very rich across the world. Diplomatic Security Service (DSS) agent Luke Hobbs and his partner Riley Hicks dig up information that leads to another mission for Tolledo and the crew. Tolledo discovers that his deceased girlfriend, Lety, is actually alive and he is persuaded to help take down Shaw for full immunity for himself, and the rest of the gang. The crew travels to London where they go through epic events to try and get Shaw back to America. Yet, on their way back Dominic and Shaw get into a fight and Shaw is thrown from the plane.
In the new upcoming Fast & Furious movie, the plot is said to be about Shaw's brother coming back to seek revenge and Dominic and his gang are his targets. Though the franchise seems to be in limbo after Paul Walker, one of the main characters in the film, passed away on Saturday from a car crash. Sources have told the Hollywood Reporter that the film will go on despite Walker's death, yet will be delayed for further shooting. Walker played Brian O'Connor, a undercover cop that turned street car racer in Tolledo's gang. Paul Walker was also shooting another movie titled, Hurrican Katrina, which is still scheduled to be released on Dec. 13. "Paul would have very much wanted us to move forward. He was incredibly proud of this project. We did a press junket two weeks ago, and I remember sitting with him and how excited he was for people to see this movie. He was looking for something to showcase his acting skills, which he so rarely had the chance to do. He hit it out of the park," Paul Presburger of production company Pantelion told The Hollywood Reporter. The release of Fast & Furious 7 is said to be hopefully by the end of summer of 2014.
