'Fast and Furious 7' Movie News: Tyrese Gibson Says Paul Walker Would Not Want the Franchise to End 'Paul was so passionate about Fast & the Furious'

Paul Walker would not want the "Fast & Furious" movie franchise to end after "Fast & Furious 7" arrives in theaters next year, according to his co-star Tyrese Gibson.

Walker was in the middle of shooting the seventh installment of the movie when he died in a blazing car accident in Southern California last November. There was a debate to cancel the film after his death, nonetheless studio executives decided to continue shooting the film.

According to various reports, Walker's character Brian O'Conner will be retired after the upcoming movie. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the movie will restart filming on April 2014 and will go on for eight weeks.

On Monday, the actor spoke to actress/rapper Queen Latifah on her show he made the following revelation.

"We (the cast) just want y'all to know that Paul was so passionate about Fast & the Furious. There's no way he would want the (Fast & the Furious) franchise to shut down because the movie is successful for a reason," said Gibson to Latifah on her talk show adding. "If you all could just show up and look at somebody in the movie that you identify with... the global impact of the movie must continue on behalf of the franchise."

In addition, Gibson discussed how grateful he was for the condolences and support he received after Walker death.

"Thank you all for all your prayers and energy that you all sent towards the family as well as us (the cast). A lot of times we take people praying for us for granted. But we have been able to find our smile again and kind of have our spirits come up after losing someone that we all adored. We adored Paul Walker. He was just a great guy," said Gibson on The Queen Latifah Show a few days ago.

On Sunday night, the Academy Awards paid homage to Walker, who was only 40-years-old when he died, in the traditional In Memoriam segment. In addition, Oscar winner Philip Seymour Hoffman, who passed away last month, and "Sopranos" star James Gandolfini were also honored on Sunday night.

When Walker died, Universal Studios stopped production, they said previously said at the time that "Right now, all of us at Universal are dedicated to providing support to Paul's immediate family and our extended Fast & Furious family of cast, crew and filmmakers."

"Fast and the Furious 7" will appear in movie theaters on April 10th 2015.
