'Fast and Furious 7' Movie News: James Wan Tweets Film Shooting Resumes Following Paul Walker's Death 'First Day Back Filming. Better and Stronger'
"Fast & Furious 7" will began filming in Atlanta yesterday, according to a recent post by movie's director James Wan. The movie's filmmakers temporally suspended production following the death of one of the film's actor, Paul Walker, died in a blazing car accident on November 30. The film had been previously shooting for several months and was expected to be released this year before Walker's untimely death. Yesterday, Wan used social media to reveal to fans of the long running blockbuster movie franchise about the current status of the film.
"First day back filming. Better and stronger," wrote Wan via Instagram yesterday.
According to a previous Access Atlanta report last month, the report claimed the film will start shooting in April. The following notice was given to downtown businesses and residents last month, which would affect some streets in Atlanta where the movie would be shot.
"FF7 Productions LLC will be shooting scenes for the feature film 'Fast & Furious 7"² in this area. The work will include car stunts, simulated combat, and special effects (explosions and simulated munitions fire). Our permit application contains the following lane and street closures, as well as a noise variance, as decibel levels will intermittently rise above ambient levels to as high as 120dB," according to the notice.
Aside from third film titled "The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift," Paul Walker's character Brian O'Conner has appeared in every film in the blockbuster "The Fast and the Furious" movie franchise. Walker made his series debut in the first "The Fast and the Furious" film alongside its other megastars Vin Diesel, Michelle Rodriguez and Jordana Brewster back in 2001.
"Continuing the global exploits in the franchise built on speed, Vin Diesel and Paul Walker lead the returning cast of 'Fast & Furious 7,' which will be released by Universal Pictures on April 10, 2015," said Universal Pictures in an announcement four months ago when they revealed Paul Walker would appear in the upcoming film despite passing away in November.
It is still unconfirmed what will happen to Walker's iconic character, Brian O'Conner. Some rumors have stated that his role will be "retired."
The "Fast and the Furious 7" film which stars the late Paul Walker, Vin Diesel, Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, Tyrese Gibson, Ludacris, Michelle Rodriguez, Jordana Brewster and Kurt Russell will appear in theaters on April 10th 2015.
