'Fashion Police' Cast Kathy Griffin to Replace Joan Rivers After Death

After Joan Rivers passed away just this September, 'Fashion Police' still hasn't hired a new face, however, Kathy Griffin recently confirmed to Access Hollywood that she was offered a spot on the fashion talk show.

The 'Pulp Fiction' actress admitted that she was offered to fill in Joan Rivers' role in 'Fashion Police'.

"They did offer it to me," the 54-year old actress said at the Make Equality Reality event in Beverly Hills, California on Tuesday, Nov. 4.

However, Griffin, noting her relationship with fellow comedian and long time friend understood that the timing wasn't right for her to replace Rivers.

"I don't know if the situation is correct at this time for me or right for me at this time," Griffin said.

Griffin hopes that whoever will fill in Joan Rivers' shoes on the E! fashion series, will keep the outgoing and happy spirit that the 81-year old iconic comedienne and showbiz icon had on the show.

"I really hope they continue in the spirit of Joan's work, she brought fearlessness and a brand of humor into our homes that we really need," she said.

"Somebody's gotta be out there poking fun at the ridiculousness of all of this," Griffin added.

Meanwhile, E! gave a green light to the 'Fashion Police' franchise for January 2015.

Beyond that, 'Fashion Police' also premiered a special 90-minute tribute last September to Joan Rivers. The episode was hosted by her daughter, Melissa Rivers, traveled back and remembered the comedienne's best moments in the show.

Comedienne and showbiz icon Joan Rivers, 81, passed away unexpectedly on Sept. 4 due to low blood oxygen levels during what was supposed to be a routine medical procedure done to her throat, and suffered cardiac arrest in the Yorkville Clinic in earlier in Aug. 28.
