Farshid Fathi, Jailed Iranian Pastor, Says God Is 'With Us All Through the Dark Nights of Our Life' (VIDEOS)

Farshid Fathi, an Iranian Pastor who is currently in prison for evangelizing the Gospel in the predominately Muslim nation, has recently revealed that he still has faith in Jesus Christ through the good times and bad times.

"In each of our lives, there are nights: nights of loneliness, nights of nightmare, nights of fever and pain, endless nights of prison, nights of missing, nights of hard-breathing and some scary, unexplainable nights in our lives," wrote Fathi in a new letter released by Elam Ministries.

He was arrested by the Middle Eastern government four years ago on Dec. 26, 2010, and was sentenced to remain behind bars until December 2016, after he was charged by the Iranian government in 2012 because he was "acting against national security through membership of a Christian organization, collection of funds, and propaganda against the Islamic Regime by helping spread Christianity in the country."

Fathi has been constantly persecuted and tortured for expressing his Christian faith, including being previously held in solitary confinement during his first year in the sadistic Evin Prison.

In addition, his foot and one of his toes were broken when the Christian evangelist tried to aid a fellow prisoner in need.

"Though I was in dire pain, I took it as a gift from our Lord to get out of prison even for a few hours. Of course, we forgive them for all they have done to us because we are followers of the One who says, 'Father, please forgive...,'" said Fathi, according to the Prisoner Alert.

However, Fathi's faith in Jesus Christ endures just like the Messiah's love for mankind.

"When a child has a bad night, his father or his mother lies beside him during the night, tenderly stroking his forehead, kissing his cheeks over and over, calling his name in the most lovely voice and they keep looking at the child's face until that bad night passes over. Then the child opens his eyes and thinks his father has just come to him. He was not able to sense his father's breath while he was battling with his nightmares," wrote Fathi.

"He was not only there in the morning, but He was with us all through the dark nights of our life ... So I am absolutely sure that finally 'the sun of justice will rise with healing in its wings (Malachi 4:2).'"

Fathi is currently married to Leila, and has two children, Rosana and Bardia.
