'Fantastic Four' News: Fox Fires Back At Trank And Reveals His Behavior On Set

Following the very disappointing feedback from the 'Fantastic Four' film, director Josh Trank opted to save some face and put the blame of the lackluster film on the studio who didn't allow him to release his "fantastic version."

Though he deleted the tweet, recent news has suggested that he started quite some controversy with Fox and those involved with the film.

On top of this, many insiders are coming forward to refute Trank's statements, and revealing some of his erratic behavior he exhibited on set.

"In Trank's case, multiple sources associated with the project say the director did not produce material that would have opened the way to a salvageable film. And by several accounts, he resisted help. "He holed up in a tent and cut himself off from everybody," says one high-level source. Literally, there was a tent on the Louisiana set. "He built a black tent around his monitor," says a crewmember. "He was extremely withdrawn." Between setups, this person adds, "he would go to his trailer and he wouldn't interact with anybody," cites THR.

Trank has also been accused of making performing on set for the actors incredibly difficult, as he would direct them on exactly when to blink and breathe. This was all to support the director's "gloomy" tone that Fox claims to support him in making.

In result, fingers have been pointed in each direction, however key crew members have attributed the failure to both parties.

"To me, it is a classic indictment of the entire system," a member stated. "Give Josh Trank a $20 million movie. Groom him. But they don't make those movies anymore. ... Nobody should escape scrutiny on this one. Everyone should take a good look in the mirror, myself included. Even I probably did the movie for the wrong reasons."
