'Fantastic Four' Spoilers, News: Director Calls Movie A 'Slugfest'

Josh Trank's upcoming 'Fantastic Four' reboot film continues to be a huge question mark to critics, as the property has done very poorly in the past. Fox has done its best to allow viewers to forget those failures with this very risky retelling of the original story.

In a recent interview with EW, Trank wants all that are still on the fence to know that this film doesn't plan to pull punches.

"The audience should expect an epic, massive, huge, multipower slugfest," Trank says. "This movie is big. A lot of stakes."

He also goes on to relate the film to his previous superhero project 'Chronicle.'

"Chronicle was all about the discovery and evolution of those powers," Trank says. "This is like, 'What if it's a couple years later and it sucks?'"‰"

Executive producer Simon Kinberg chimed in with realizing the collective thoughts on the 'Fantastic Four' franchise.

"I get the skepticism going into it because the previous movies weren't very good," Kinberg said. "It's a very hard title to crack."

Fans will finally realize how successful Trank was in his reboot on August 7.

The movie stars Miles Teller, Michael B. Jordan, Kate Mara, Jamie Bell, and Toby Kebbell.

Here's the plot synopsis:

"FANTASTIC FOUR, a contemporary re-imagining of Marvel's original and longest-running superhero team, centers on four young outsiders who teleport to an alternate and dangerous universe, which alters their physical form in shocking ways. Their lives irrevocably upended, the team must learn to harness their daunting new abilities and work together to save Earth from a former friend turned enemy."
