'Family Guy-Simpsons' Trailer Released: Griffin-Simpson Mashup Creates Hilarious Antics; ‘Crossover’ Episode Airs September 28 [VIDEO]
A monumental mashup is in store for FOX's 'Family Guy' and 'The Simpsons', and fans are expecting top notch humor with Peter Griffin and Homer Simpson in the picture. During the Comic-Con 2014 panel discussion last Friday, Fox announced that the crossover episode will be aired on September 28.
In the trailer episode, Peter and Homer were shown sharing their love for donuts. A nuclear powerplant meltdown consequently gave the two protagonists super human powers. However, a question remains, are they going to be a powerful duo or are they going to annihilate one another?
Other characters from other shows will also be making cameo appearances such as Bob Belcher from 'Bob's Burgers' and Cleveland from 'Family Guy' and 'The Cleveland Show'.
While the trailer video looks promising, some critics say that the mashup may not actually produce the audiences' desired content which may elicit negative feedback. Metro UK discussed in its blog that the episode's culture clash might not be taken very well by its fan base. The website also added that animation styles from 'Family Guy' and 'The Simpsons' could harbor some odd scenes.
