Family Force 5 'Let It Be Love' Single Inspired by Switchfoot's Jon Foreman; Band Announces New Label and Album Info

Family Force 5 is relaunching their new single with the new singer since the previous one departed from the group in September, and have also announced a new label.
FF5 has joined Fervent Records which is part of Word Label Group, and will be releasing their next album this August, reported New Release Tuesday. The currently untitled project, will have 15 new songs, and pre-orders will be available on May 27. The first single is "Let it be Love."

"Our forthcoming album is a reflection on the liberating, ethereal experience of connecting with the holy," said Derek Mount to New Release Tuesday. "It is an encounter that transcends boundaries, and that eclipses our frailty and our doubts. The man-made constraints of time disappear, becoming irrelevant. It is union. It is perfection. It is eternal. As 2 Peter 2:8 advises, "...Do not ignore this one fact, beloved, that with the Lord one day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years are like one day.' In this moment, time stands still."

"From the beginning, Family Force 5 has been called to stretch boundaries, to step outside the box from the way faith based artists have traditionally sounded and looked," Jacob Olds chimed in to the publication. "We've received a lot of criticism for the last eight and a half years. Our team has always struggled with the right way to respond."

Mount then spoke about the "Let it be Love" track and its inspiration. The song title grew out of a video the band was watching on Switchfoot. Outside of that particular concert, there were people protesting the band. Lead singer Jon Foreman explained to the crowd the situation and offered his thoughts.

"He encouraged them to remember that there is something deeper than disagreement, and there is beauty in connection. In common ground. He also said we have one card to play, and that card is love. This is the sentiment that served as the inspiration for our song," said Mount.

FF5 further explains in an interview with New Release Tuesday. Listen to that interview below:
