'Fallout 4' Release Date Rumors: Bethesda Dispels Rumors, Possible News at Two Major Events

Since the release of Fallout 3: New Vegas, Bethesda and Obsidian Entertainment have been quiet about the release, or in any case, much about anything of the sequel to the post-apocalyptic game franchise.

For the last three years, players and fans of the game have been plagued by fake rumors and wild speculation about the release date of the awaited sequel. Bethesda has not issued any comments or statements regarding these rumors which leaves its fans on edge.

In January of 2013 Erik Dellums, the voice of Three Dog in Fallout 3, tweeted about the possible return of the game. He also mentioned in the tweet about Bethesda giving him permission to post it online, but did not give any comments.

Without any official statements from Bethesda regarding the tweet, fans soon speculated that it was nothing more than a hoax.

This year, fans are expecting a huge preview or at least an official announcement that there would be a release date for the upcoming sequel. During the Electronic Entertainment Expo, Bethesda Marketing Executive, Pete Hines has told fans in attendance that all and any rumors surrounding the game's release date were false. He added that the game was still under development and the company wouldn't be able to give anything tangible.

This leaves two major events as possible sources for any information regarding the Fallout sequel. Gamescon and the Tokyo Game Show are upcoming events in the next few months with Bethesda in attendance. Fans are insightful that at least some kind of announcement will be issued by the company.
Gamescon will be held August 14-17, while Tokyo Game Show will be held through September 18-21.
