While Bethesda Softworks has yet to make an official announcement confirming 'Fallout 4', a source, said to be close to the game publisher's PR officer, revealed that the title is currently under development.

The source told Reddit, "First and foremost, the game will take place in Boston, and be kind of a direct sequel to "Fallout 3" with a few groups returning," and added, "From what it sounds like, 'The Institute' is pretty much the downtown DC or New Vegas of this game. Boston is going to be unlike anything we've seen in a Fallout game before, with buildings more on par with cyberpunk and retro-futurism."

The Reddit report says that Androids play a major role in this game, while the railroad from 'Fallout 3' is a faction. "The Plantation" - a group, who force Androids to farm so that Humans can get food, are the enemies of the railroad.

On the other hand, the Institute is extremely superior and has possibly obtained or built their personal GECK to start a farm. As there have been complaints regarding the excessive use of Super Mutants and the Brotherhood of Steel in 'Fallout 3', which seemed to be going against the lore a lot, this time Bethesda Softworks has decided to stay away from using these groups.

In fact, Bethesda wants to create a new "race" (supposedly Ghoul or Super Mutant), which will be integral to Boston. Currently, Bethesda is considering Lovecraftian fiction, as Boston is around 'Lovecraft Country, the source told Reddit.

The source further claimed, "Bethesda has no plans to reinvent the leveling up system to make it more like Skyrim and want to make Fallout 4 more distinct from Skyrim since of the complaints that Oblivion and Fallout 3 were too similar. Bethesda is thinking about introducing a system, similar to Skyrim, where your skills can level up if you perform certain tasks."

It is expected that Bethesda will release 'Fallout 4' next year in the Fall, and the game is likely to be unvieled at the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) 2015, after missing the action this year.
