'Fallout 4' Release Date, News: Bethesda Drops Game? Project 'Institute' the Code Name For New Title?
Despite worldwide anticipation for the fourth 'Fallout' title, videogame developer Bethesda, is reported to be dropping the production of the game, which many believe will delay its release date.
According to reports, Bethesda passed 'Fallout 4' to another videogame company, Battle Studios. This came after Howard Todd, the game's director, said that Bethesda could not specify a timeline for the new title's launch.
IB Times says that since 'Fallout 4' has already missed its projected launch date at the E3 2014, the company has opted to shoot for E3 2015 instead.
Also, on a side note, sources are saying that the fourth installment will incorporate aspects of multiplayer. Project director and lead designer of 'Fallout: New Vegas', Josh Sawyer, said that he plans to have an MMO element in 'Fallout 4'.
Additionally, rumor has it that the next title will sync its storyline with the other games in the series.
The first two 'Fallout' games were created by Black Isle Studios and Interplay Entertainment. In 2004, Interplay Entertainment passed the game to Bethesda to create 'Fallout 3: New Vegas', after which Bethesda purchased the entire franchise.
Rumors also mention a project code named 'Institute' which could very well be a reference to the fourth 'Fallout' title. The Fuse Jopline reports that a phrase is mentioned in the project, 'war, war never changes', which is a common introduction in the 'Fallout' game series.
Further, if the 'Institute' project is actually 'Fallout 4', then it would confirm that the new title would be set in Boston.
At present, Bethesda has yet to release any official statement on the game.
